Costume made, worn and final image edit by: :iconqueencattabby:

This costume was worn on Sat and Sun of Armageddon Sydney. I participated in the cosplay comp with:
:iconechoing-artemis: as Gabrielle
:iconalita-b-angel: as Quorra from Tron
:iconarlo-arleh: as Gem/Siren from Tron

Interesting combo... yes... best crossover ever... I believe so... ^-^ Together we won best in show! Whoo!

I promised more pics and here they are! PLUS I have my sword and chakrum (and Gabby to come) ^-^ Avid Xena fans will notice the lack of paua shell on my sword, I ordered them two and a half weeks before the con but they didn't make it... *grumble grumble*

I'm fascinated by Xena's past - every flashback ep would have me glued to the screen so I had to do one fiery pic ^-^

I left you a comment on your DD, but I just had to comment on this shot with the sword. You did an amazing job on that sword. And once again air dry clay, dang I need to remember that. I make quite a few props myself and prefer using pretty basic materials such as wood, so this is really giving me a lot of ideas. This is another great view of the costume too, and I love the chakram too.

Thank you so very very much!! I would love to make my props out of wood - I don't have a lot of space in my apartment and I'm not sure how much I trust myself with powertools... but wooden props are SO awesome! Hardy and a good weight - makes them feel more real :D

How do you compensate for different body types/proportions to your model? I imagine it must be really difficult - here it seems you have gone more with accuracy to the extent that you have sacrificed some of the form flattering intent of the original. I wonder if you could have flattered your own form more while staying true to the costume - still recognisable, in fact, to the eye completely true to the original?

I really love your cosplay, it's just that the way that it makes your body look really sticks out to me to its detriment. Your head looks very giant compared to the arms and legs, which look very dwarfish. It makes you almost look like a chibi xena to me.

That said, seriously kickass work. No wonder this image is so popular!!! <3<3

hi again. sorry to be a pain. But how did you do the knee guards. Did you add to the racing knee guards? Did you cut it to the right size for the costume? I'm not sure how exactly you did it. Could you let me know please. Keep up with the amazing work. ;D ;)
